For this in detail write up we have a BMW 325D convertible in Le mans blue, my client had recently purchased the car with approximately 5000 miles on the clock and wanted to return it to a like new condition.
The car was booked in to have a exterior valet with a high quality carnauba wax upgrade
As usual I started with the wheels, using an acid free wheel cleaner each wheel was sprayed with the wheel cleaner and allowed to sit for a few minutes then rinsed off, this helps remove any loose particles of dirt and grit and to reduce the chance of scratching the wheels during the wash stage.
Each wheel was taken through a multi stage wash process which consists of the following steps...
Wash stage > Rinse > Tar removal > Rinse > Fallout removal > Final rinse.
Tyres and wheel arches were sprayed with a de-greaser prior to being scrubbed and rinsed.
Once all four wheels had been cleaned it was time to move on to cleaning the door and boot shuts, these were sprayed with a pre-cleaner and gently agitated with a soft detailing brush then rinsed off.
The next stage was to prepare to pre-wash the paintwork to soften and remove as much of the dirt as possible, this is an essential part of cleaning a car as it helps to avoid scratches and surface defects caused by dirt caught between the wash mit and the painted surface.
Following a rinse the car was then fully washed using the two bucket method and multiple wash mits.
The paintwork was then sprayed with tar remover and finally a fallout remover to remove iron filings and other particles that cannot be removed through normal cleaning.
Once complete the car was dried using a super absorbent drying towel.
The next stage was to polish and cleanse the paintwork, application was by hand and done one panel at a time before being allowed to haze before being buffed off.
As specified by my client the best wax was chosen for the car as he wanted a deep glossy shine with maximum protection.
So using a high quality wax from one of the worlds leading wax makers an even coat was applied to all painted panels.
Once done it was allowed to haze and cure for approximately one hour before being buffed off.
Whilst the wax was curing I attended to a few other areas such as the rubber seals, polished metal, glass cleaning and tyre dressing.

Once all done the exterior was left looking like this...
Thank you for looking.
